Mideye+
Enhanced authentication with push notifications and offline capabilities
Mideye+ is an extension of SMS-OTP authentication, based on an app for Android and iPhone users. With Mideye+, the central system primarily connects to the phone using data push (mobile data or WiFi), with SMS as fallback. This makes login less sensitive to temporary SMS interworking problems. An offline signature function enables login also when outside of network coverage.
Mideye+ supports multiple authentication modes including OTP (displayed in the app), Touch-Accept (approve login directly from a push notification), offline challenge-response (sign a challenge when outside network coverage), and Magic Link (tap to approve via a unique link delivered to the app). The usage mode is configured in the company's Mideye Server.
To activate Mideye+, you need to first download the app from Google Play or App Store and then activate it. Note that SMS coverage is required at the time of activation.
To stop using Mideye+ and revert to SMS-OTP, Mideye+ can be deactivated via the settings menu in the app. Mideye+ can also be deactivated online via our deactivation page.
If you change phone, you will need to download and activate a new app on the new device. The old app will then automatically become inactive. Changing SIM card on the same phone does not affect Mideye+.
Frequently Asked Questions
iPhone: why is it necessary to manually click on the link to open the app?
With iPhone, it is currently not possible to automatically start an app from an SMS. For this reason, users must manually click on a link to start the app.
Corrupted / unreadable one-time passwords
If you have activated Mideye+ and then switched to a new phone, the app on the new device will not have the encryption keys needed to decrypt OTPs. You need to activate Mideye+ on the new phone. If the issue occurs on the same phone without a device change, try de-activating and re-activating Mideye+.
iPhone: Why can't I click on the link to open the app?
First, verify that the Mideye+ app is installed on your iPhone. If the app is installed, try to restart your phone.
I changed phone — what do I do?
When you switch to a new phone, the existing Mideye+ activation cannot be transferred — the encryption keys are tied to the original device. Download the Mideye+ app on your new phone and activate it. The previous app on the old device will automatically stop working.
Note: Changing only your SIM card (keeping the same phone) does not affect Mideye+. No re-activation is needed.
I'm not receiving push notifications
Make sure your phone has an active data connection (mobile data or WiFi). Check that notifications are enabled for the Mideye+ app in your phone's settings. If push delivery still fails, the system will automatically fall back to SMS-OTP or offline challenge-response depending on your configuration.
How do I log in when I have no network coverage?
When your phone is unreachable, the login screen will display a numeric challenge. Open the Mideye+ app, enter the challenge, and the app will generate a signed response code. Enter this code in the login dialog to complete authentication. No network connection is needed for this step.
How do I deactivate Mideye+?
You can deactivate Mideye+ from the settings menu within the app, or online via our deactivation page. After deactivation, authentication will revert to standard SMS-OTP delivery.
